Help your partner by taking charge of the Christmas gift list.

You should be fully versed in whatever your partner's intensive interests are so of course, you'll know exactly what to get them for Christmas won't you?  If for some strange reason, you're not sure - ask.

This year will be difficult financially for many people so in theory there should be less expectation from others in terms of gifts.  If you want to or need to stay out of the gift giving loop this year then don't feel bad or guilty for doing so.

Remember that your partner may not like opening presents in front of other people, including you!

Give them the space they need.  No offence is meant!  If you're visiting others and there are expectations to join the round of present-opening, if your partner can't explain or is struggling to, reiterate that gifts will be opened later on.Help your partner by taking charge of the Christmas gift list.

If anyone asks you or you have been invited elsewhere over the season, it might be worth reminding  people that your partner may want their present left unwrapped.

If you are gift-giving, do set a budget and try and stick to it.  It's very easy to go over the top and this year more than ever, it's important to stick to a limit.
